Today, St Brelade caught fire from sunlight reflecting off the convex surface of the vanity mirror.

The Jersey Fire and Resuce Service was called to a home before 3 o'clock this afternoon.

When the emergency services arrived, the fired material had been removed from the bedroom and the fire had been extinguished.

However, firefighters must ventilate the room, and the occupant is treated for smoke inhalation.
